.org is one of the original top level domains. A popular choice covering websites for non-profit organisations, charities, research bodies, unions, galleries and museums, to name a few.

.net

Originally created for use by technical websites. This popular domain is often used when a .com is unavailable, or in conjunction with a .com

.info

Originally created with information websites in mind, this global domain name is open for all.

.biz

.biz was created as an alternative for businesses that were unable to register an appropriate .com. Although intended for businesses, it is open for anyone to register.

.org.uk

A domain extension primarily used by organisations & charities based in the UK but open to all.
